Workcamp Interactive Holiday for Children – Cluj Napoca, România, 30 June -14 July 2011 & 15-31 July 2011

Interactive Holiday for Children project was designed for families with fewer opportunities, providing them the opportunity to send their children at a summer camp, as an alternative to going at their grandparents or just staying home, during the summer camp. In this camp the children will have the occasion to meet young people from different countries with different backgrounds. At the same time, one of the purposes of this camp is to raise the level of consciousness regarding the historical and cultural characteristics of the city they live in. The volunteers will have to organize recreational and educative activities with the children during 2 weeks, by playing games, teaching them a foreign language, painting, visits to the museums, exploring the surroundings of Cluj, artistic activities etc. The volunteers will have plenty of free time to explore the city, interact with the local people, and have fun.

Location:
Cluj-Napoca, commonly known as Cluj, is the fourth most populous city in Romania and the seat of Cluj County in the northwestern part of the country. Located in the Someşul Mic River valley, the city is considered the unofficial capital to the historical province of Transylvania. In 1790-1848 and 1861–1867, it was the official capital of the Grand Principality of Transylvania.

Accommodation:
The volunteers will be accommodated in a high-school shared dormitory. The breakfasts and dinners will be prepared there and the lunches will be provided at a canteen in the city center. Please bring your local special ingredients for the specific meals cooked by the volunteers, during international dinners.
